DEATH TO MIND, DEATH TO FIND

09 March 2016

Ways To Float

Feel one way and then another
Toward what
I turn when they're away
Along the seas encroaching borders, long
Awake, I tread.
How can I not remember that which
Haunts this trampled trail?
The tracks iced over decades still reveal a shape familiar
Blind to weigh Each grain by blood, tulips
Tempt both ends.
                  Calm the shore, its
Cries ignored, forever lead my
Oars, its force the only guide.
On Death's boat I ride.
